Terms of Service

Trusted Circle is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for calling 911 (or your local emergency number). In a life-threatening emergency, always contact emergency services directly first.

1. What Trusted Circle is

Trusted Circle is a coordination tool that lets a group of people (a "Circle") set up a dedicated phone number that simultaneously rings the people they've designated as call receivers, along with contact management and periodic reminders to test that the line still works. Trusted Circle does not dispatch emergency responders, does not monitor calls, and does not guarantee that any call will be answered or that any person will respond.

2. No guarantee of delivery or response

Phone calls depend on third-party carriers, networks, devices, and the availability of the people in a Circle. We do not guarantee that a call to a Circle's number will connect, that it will reach any or all call receivers, that anyone will answer, or that anyone will take any particular action. Technical failures, carrier outages, incorrect contact information, Do Not Disturb settings, and simple unavailability are all things we cannot control or promise around.

3. Your responsibilities

4. No call recording

Calls placed through a Circle's number are never recorded by Trusted Circle. We log call metadata only (timestamp, phone numbers involved, call status, duration) for the call log feature described in our Privacy Policy.

5. Accounts, circles, and billing

Accounts are managed through our authentication provider (Clerk). Each Circle corresponds to one organization; anyone you invite into a Circle can see and manage the information described in our Privacy Policy for that Circle. A free plan is available with limits on the number of call receivers per Circle; a paid plan removes that limit for a recurring monthly fee, billed and processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled and can be canceled at any time from the billing page, effective at the end of the current billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.

6. Termination

You may stop using Trusted Circle and delete a Circle at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to Trusted Circle for violations of these Terms, non-payment, or conduct that we reasonably believe creates risk or legal exposure for us or others.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Trusted Circle is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Trusted Circle and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of life, personal injury, or property damage, arising from or related to your use of or inability to use the service - including a failed, delayed, or unanswered call - even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or $100 if you have not paid us anything.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify Circle admins by email. Continued use of Trusted Circle after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
